North YorkshireThe Regent, Redcar

testing 19th july

Here at Merlin Cinemas we are doing everything we can to ensure you have a safe and enjoyable visit in-line with government guidelines. The below measures will be in place in all of our cinemas for the safety and well-being of you and our team.

SOCIAL SPACING

At our cinemas in England for the time being we will be keeping up to 25% empty seats in each auditorium which means, at showings where we have allocated seating, a single empty seat will be automatically placed yourself and other groups. At those cinemas holding performances without allocated seating, the 25% empty seats will ensure you can yourselves space out from other groups when you enter the auditorium.

In Scotland, the 2m distancing rule will be reduced to the new 1m rule, in-line with updated Scottish government restrictions.

Wales will continue as before for the immediate future.

Queue controls around our foyer and bar areas, and table seating at our restaurants, will only be relaxed slightly so that we can still maintain a safe but friendly environment but without the need to force patrons to keep 2 metres apart as before.

FACE COVERINGS

Though they will no longer be mandatory in England, we recommend patrons continue to wear face coverings when moving around the venue, though this will not be enforced. Our team will mainly continue to wear masks and/or visors, especially if moving around the building and our Perspex screens will remain in place at all our counters and bars. In Wales and Scotland, Face Coverings still remain mandatory, except for those with exemptions, at our cinemas, bars and restaurants in Wales and Scotland. They can be removed whilst seated/eating and drinking.

EXTRA CLEANING

There will be no reduction in the hygiene regimes for our employees, and we will continue to conduct regular and thorough surface cleaning to all public areas, as well as enhanced cleaning between performances and restaurant sittings.  Sanitising stations will remain around the venue, we encourage patrons to use these.

CONTACT TRACING

We will continue to display the NHS Track and Trace posters and encourage customers to manually check-in when they arrive should they chose to do so, although it will no longer be mandatory for us to collect or for you to leave details.

BOOKING AND PAYMENTS

Advance Booking is strongly advised. Please try to pay by card or contactless where possible, though cash payments will be accepted. Subject to availability tickets can be purchased directly from the box office at the cinema.

All cinema employees have been trained on the new safety and hygiene measures. We have strict guidelines for any of our colleagues who may begin to show early symptoms to stay away from the cinema. We would welcome all of our patrons to do the same and stay home if they feel unwell. We will be assisting the NHS with Track and Trace apps where possible and customers have provided their details.
